You’ve put time and effort into learning strategies to help your teen manage time, build routines, remember their books, and create a study plan to try to improve smooth running of home life.
You’re feeling the pressure of being the personal assistant, mediator and OT of the household…
But your teen’s constant resistance to using any of the strategies is getting in the way of the peace at home.
And when teenage big feelings and ADHD big feelings collide, the emotions in households with teens with ADHD are considerable.
It’s hard to be faced with these big feelings at the end of your day.
ADHD doesn't just effect school.
It impacts family life in significant and sometimes harmful ways.
This training is not about asking you to be more understanding, do more for your teen, and just “magic” calm feelings at the end of your work day when they’re annoying their sibling at the dinner table and everyone leaves crying.
It’s about helping you to focus your energy.
There’s common traps parents with ADHD fall into that undermine all your hard work.
This training is about what to focus on so you can start helping your teen with ADHD move from arguments and nagging to connection and action.
In this training you will learn:

hey there!

Hi, I'm Kirstin. I am a clinical psychologist and have created resources for parents of teenagers to build more Calm and Connection in their households.
I have 25 years experience working with teens and their families on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Many parents are not supported at all when their teenagers are struggling. I have witnessed many great parents unknowingly make mistakes that have made their difficulties with their children worse... all because no one gave them the support and guidance they needed.
It is for this reason I developed the Calm Connection Program and other online resources including this new specialised School Reluctance training for parents of teens to reduce your stress and improve Monday morning ease for you and your teen.Â
In a past life I was also a university based researcher and have conducted studies on teen bullying and aggression, lying, delinquent behaviour, and resilience. As a researcher it is important to me that parents are supported with strategies that are based on science and psychological research.
