hey there!

I'm Dr Kirstin Barchia

I help parents of teenagers build calm and connection in their households.

Hi, I'm Kirstin. I am a clinical psychologist and have created resources for parents of teenagers to build more Calm and Connection in their households.

After counselling teenagers and their families on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for the past 20 years, I expanded to the online space to provide more support for struggling parents. Many parents are not supported at all when their teenagers are struggling. I have witnessed many great parents unknowingly make mistakes that have made their difficulties with their children worse... all because no one gave them the support and guidance they needed.

It is for this reason I developed the Calm Connection Program and other online resources for parents of teens to improve connection between teens and their parents so as to improve teenage resilience and emotion coping.

I am also a researcher and have conducted research with teenagers on bullying and aggression, lying, delinquent behaviour, and resilience. As a researcher it is important to me that parents are supported with strategies that are based on science and psychological research.

I can't wait to help you.
